EDDIE ZYNE - DRUMS
Eddie Zyne (2/6/1951-11/2/2018)
Original Tony Stevens Slowride Original Foghoat drummer Eddie Zyne began playing drums at age 12 while attending a seminary in Miami, Florida. He realized that he had to move to New York City to find the best gigs. Landing the drumming spot with Hall and Oates in 1974 was a great start. Touring with successful songwriter Desmond Child soon followed.
Eddie played an important role in the educational system in Miami where he originated and taught MIDI classes at Miami-Dade Community College. He was also responsible for the organization of recording sessions for the same college as well as working with legendary producer, Tom Dowd, as part of his Masters of Music Super Session event hosted by NARAS.
Eddie Zyne is no stranger to the music of Foghat. In 1990 “Lonesome” Dave Peverett called on him to join “Lonesome” Dave's Foghat along with other founding member Rod Price. After three great years he went on to form “The Livesays” with Billy Livesay in South Florida. He worked closely with Billy on the “Little Bit of Hurt” CD and the synergy between the two is unmistakable.
Eddie's extensive career has included playing with Daryl Hall and John Oates, Stephen Dees, Desmond Child and Tony Carey. Eddie got to shine during The Monkees 20th Anniversary Tour where he not only got to play drums for the Monkees but also The Grass Roots and Gary Puckett. Eddie also had the pleasure to play drums for great talents like Rick Derringer and Brian Howe.
